Seafarers' Well-being Group

The human element is recognized as a key factor of the safety of life on board ships and a contributing factor to most of the casualties in the shipping sector. The Seafarers' Well-being Group (SWELL) is an initiative where researchers from the Marine Science and Psychology departments from Universidad de Oviedo have joined forces to study the different effects of anxiety, depression, fatigue and stress, among others and how maritime safety can be enhanced.
