L.A. Díaz-Secades is a licensed STCW Chief Engineer Unlimited. After ten years working onboard vessels and in shipyards he transitioned into Academia. Currently, he works as Assistant Professor at Escuela Superior de Marina Civil de Gijón at the University of Oviedo specializing in energy efficiency.
He is also founding member of SWELL where he works on Human Element.

Research
My research aims to identify how to improve energy efficiency onboard vessels, increasing the use of the already available energy in order to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. This involves thermal, fluids and electrical engineering (Under construction).
